The Four Year Prologue
Brakes screeched as the long, black car rocked to a halt. The window of the driver's compartment hummed down.
The driver smiled at him and nodded. "End of the road, lad," he called out, before flipping a switch; the door swung open, filling the car with sudden, blazing sunlight.
Sion winced, raising an arm to stop his eyes from soldering to the inside of his skull. He stepped out onto a concrete forecourt, tugging his tattered sack out along with him. He shut the door behind him and stared up at the under-lit awning.
